Otherwise known as the Two Dot Crab is destinguished from it's commercial counterpart, the Blue Swimmer Crab as it has two dark red dots on the back of it's grey/brown carapace. They are harvested from the shallows of Coffin Bay to the deeper waters of Spencer Gulf. The majority of the catch is taken btween August and January with limited supply but genrally larger product being caught during the remaining months.
